About Us
Overview Viralytics is a leading Australian anti-cancer biotechnology company.
Viralytics’s focus is on its virotherapy treatment for a range of cancers, including melanoma, breast and prostate. Research and Development is being carried out at the University of Newcastle. The technology has shown efficacy and safety in preclinical studies, and safety in preliminary limited clinical exposure. Phase 1 clinical studies of the lead product, Cavatak™, commenced in 2005. Other viruses are at the preclinical stage.
Other Investments Viralytics has a 45 per cent interest in a new drug delivery mechanism, which has been licensed to Canon Inc of Japan for development trialling, and commercialisation.
Additionally, Viralytics owns 3.5 per cent of unlisted public company, CBio Limited, which is developing treatments for a range of autoimmune disorders.
Viralytics’s other investments, while having revenue potential, have their own management structures, enabling Viralytics to provide oversight rather than daily involvement.
